Oregon is a special place for hops, growing the largest percentage of aroma hops, more than any other state in the Pacific Northwest. Comet is a beautiful example of this and is grown exclusively in Oregon’s beautiful Willamette Valley. For our first use of this hop variety we chose Comet grown on the Crosby Estate bringing delicious melon and cantaloupe coupled with classic notes of sweet citrus and floral bouquet which we love.
Crosby Hops is a family-owned and vertically integrated hop grower, processor, and merchant based in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Their Estate Grown program showcases the unique Oregon terroir, consistently producing hops with higher total oils than industry averages which is why we chose them again and again. The high hop oil is achieved through differentiated farming practices, precise harvest timing, and delicate, low-temperature processing, ensuring vibrant aroma and flavor expression, perfect for our juicy pales.
